Lot Description

Cheap Land In Missouri - Saint Robert Hilltop Retreat w/Power & Water.

If you're ready to get away from all the stresses of urban life, cut out a little slice of the country for yourself here in the central Missouri Ozarks. 360 views from this property's summit - a perfect spot to build a home and deck - unveil the untamed Gasconade River valley and rolling Ozark hills. With the Lake of the Ozarks (voted America's 1 recreational lake) and Ha Ha Tonka State Park (voted most beautiful place in Missouri) within an hour's drive, you also have quick access to the best outdoor adventure that Missouri has to offer.

PROPERTY: This 4.85-Acre rectangular-shaped piece offers about 240 feet of direct frontage on Laramie Road, a publicly maintained gravel road. The tract slopes moderately upward from the road until it levels off to a relatively flat and buildable area comprising about one acre at the summit. The site is moderately wooded with no structures, and the neighborhood is peaceful and only lightly developed for residential and some agriculture. Your immediate neighbor to the south and west is vacant greenspace owned by the City of Saint Robert, which further assures your unfettered enjoyment of the surrounding Ozark hills and valleys. Power and county water are available and run along the road.

The Cheapest 5 Acres in the Area with Road Access, Power, Water, and These Beautiful 360 Views.

With raw land, “potential” is the name of the game. If you're a huge fan of majestic views, then - of all the lands we've sold through the years - this one might have the most potential of any of them. One look at the 3D Google Earth and Mapright images (which are available on this page) provides a glimpse into all the beauty waiting to be unlocked here. You'll see that this tract leads up into one of the highest ridges in the whole area, overlooking the famous Gasconade River valley (“one of the world's crookedest rivers“), but the river offers more than just looks. The Gasconade is brimming with smallmouth and largemouth bass and offers other recreational activities like canoeing, kayaking, and tubing.

This land is great for camping but, thinking longer-term, clearing out and building a house near that property's ridge elevation of about 1041 feet would open up beautiful views of the river valley and surrounding Ozark Country hillsides. Other owners on the north side of the road have built hilltop homes to take advantage of these breathless natural surroundings, so now's your chance to do the same...at a wholesale price.

Saint Robert, Missouri: This property offers the best of both worlds: it's off the beaten path, and we can guarantee that you'll be able to find all the privacy, peace, and quiet that you're looking for...but it's also located just 10 minutes from downtown Saint Robert, where you'll find shopping staples like a Walmart and Lowe's. And if you haven't been to Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers yet, then your life is about to change. If you're looking for more ambiance in your dining experience though, you have several first-class options from which to choose, like Ichiban Japanese Steak House, Colton's Steak House, and Culver's. Or maybe you're looking somewhere in the middle, like a Cracker Barrel, Ruby Tuesday, or Dr. Phil's Catfish & Ribs. Don't worry coffee-lovers, because Starbucks is here to get your day started on the right note. Don't eat too close to heading out to the Tiger Typhoon Aquatics Center though. This local fun hot spot offers two water slides, a lazy river, party decks, a rock-climbing wall, and many other amenities.

Rolla (population 20K) is 35 minutes away and this quaint little city offers a wonderful variety of urban and recreational opportunities. Try out the SplashZone or various fitness facilities, golf courses, go-cart tracks, and beautiful parks with emerald lakes, like Maramec State Park (Missouri's 5th largest spring and great for trout fishing). In addition to hosting several of America's shopping favorites like TJ Maxx, Ross, Kohl's, Hobby Lobby, Lowe's, and Walmart, Rolla offers many boutique options too, and its rich cultural heritage shines through the Leach Theatre, as well as the Ozark Actors Theatre, which actually hosts Broadway-caliber plays and actors. You won't go hungry here either, because Rolla is packed with great eateries, including my personal favorite, Dickey's Barbecue Pit (editors note: yeah, their jalapeno cheddar sausage is amazing).

It's also just 40 minutes from Lebanon in the opposite direction (southwest). Known as the “Crossroads of the Ozarks,” Lebanon is a city of 15,000 residents and offers all the necessities and modern conveniences you could need in antique stores, dining, downtown shopping, outlet malls, and a Walmart. Load up on building supplies at Lowe's or Harbor Freight, or even travel back in time, courtesy of the Route 66 Museum. Motorsports lovers will enjoy the Lebanon I-44 Speedway, which has been sanctioned by Nascar in the past, but more natural entertainment is abundant here too, like zip-lining and river running offered by the Niangua River Oasis. Nearby Bennett Spring State Park is one of the most beloved recreational areas in the state and very popular amongst fishermen.

This property also sits just a single hour away from Osage Beach and the Lake of the Ozarks, one of the world's largest man-made lakes and host to about 5 million visitors per year. Lake of the Ozarks was voted “Best Recreational Lake” in America by a USA Today readers' poll and, from just one glance, it's easy to see why. It's not just a beautiful body of water though - it's the Midwest's premier lake resort destination and an enormous state park, offering world-class boating, cruising, golfing, shopping, hiking, camping, and fishing, plus a wide variety of lodging, 200+ restaurants, state parks, and other recreational activities to suit any budget and taste. Nearby Ha Ha Tonka State Park is the crown jewel of the state's public park system. This 3600-Acre pristine wilderness is not just a geologic masterpiece, but was voted the most beautiful place in Missouri (a very impressive feat for a state renowned for its untamed majesty) and the 4th best state park in America. Explore caves, sinkholes, glades, savannas, rocky cliffs and hillsides, natural springs, and even castle ruins. There's plenty of man-made fun to be had here too though, including the region's largest outdoor waterpark and a few local wineries. When the sun drops below the horizon and you're ready for some live entertainment, head to the Ozarks Amphitheater in Camdenton, one of the coolest outdoor music venues in the entire state.

At just 90 minutes away, Springfield is the nearest major metropolitan city (population 462,000) and, of course, is flush with shopping, dining, nightlife, and almost every urban amenity imaginable. Children enjoy the Discovery Center of Springfield, featuring interactive exhibits on dinosaurs and human Dna, as well as train rides and the Dickerson Park Zoo, with animals from all over the world. Adults flock to outdoor concerts, fine dining, exciting nightlife, but the Wonders of Wildlife National Museum & Aquarium, opened in 2017 and now considered “America's Best Aquarium” by USA Today, is an unforgettable experience for the entire family. Don't miss Fantastic Caverns for truly unique “cavern-coasting,” or the Pythian Castle if you want to scratch a Harry Potter itch. It's also home to a minor league affiliate of one of sports most storied franchises - the St. Louis Cardinals.

The property's somewhat central location within the state also places it within driving distance of St. Louis, about 2 hours away. Of course, the Gateway to the West also serves as the gateway to just about any urban activity your heart could desire. Some of the most popular choices include the St. Louis Cardinals, Gateway Arch, Saint Louis Zoo, City Museum, Union Station, and Six Flags.
